Job responsibilities

Teaching

  • Assist in preparation of subjects to be taught as presented in modules

  • Assist in teaching subjects in his/her area of specialization

  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation of students through continual assessment tests and examinations

  • Participate in organization of practices in classrooms, library and laboratories an d exams’ invigilation.

Research

  • Assist in preparation of research proposals in line with his area of specialization and institutional thematic areas

  • Participate in research activities aiming at solving community problems

  • Publish research results at national, regional and international levels

Community Outreach

  • Participate in dissemination of research findings to relevant stakeholders

  • Conduct research projects which may lead to PhD studies

  • Participate in organizing national scientific conferences

Consultancy

  • Conduct consultancy activities in his area of specialization

  • Compete successfully for income generating consultancies

Relevant Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with at least a second class upper division or at least 70% in one of the following fields: Medical surgical Nursing, Perioperative Nursing, Critical care and Trauma Nursing, Nephrology Nursing, Oncology Nursing

  • Have a good command of English (Oral and Written).

  • Have a valid license for clinical practice.

  • Be of the Rwandan nationality,

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Relevant teaching experience in Higher Learning Institutions.

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, or a validated Teaching Portfolio Certificate.

  • Copy of National Identity Card.

  • Copy of degree certificate, and if obtained outside Rwanda, a degree equivalence certificate issued by the Higher Education Council.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV).

  • A valid license for clinical practice.
