Are you a skilled electrical professional with a passion for ensuring safe and reliable electrical systems? The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) is looking for an Electrician to join its Property Management and Performance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and operational excellence of RSSB's real estate assets and facilities.

The Electrician will be responsible for providing timely inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations of electrical systems and equipment across RSSB properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all electrical installations are safe, functional, and compliant with applicable standards and regulations.

Reporting directly to the Lead Maintenance, the Electrician will support the efficient operation of RSSB facilities through preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
  2. Install, maintain, and repair wiring, control systems, and lighting systems.
  3. Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical equipment including transformers, generators, and circuit breakers.
  4. Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults using testing devices.
  5. Repair or replace electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
  6. Ensure compliance with national and local electrical regulations and standards.
  7. Support and guide maintenance workers on electrical installations and repairs.
  8. Collaborate with caretakers to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  9. Advise management on electrical installation standards and equipment requirements.
  10. Report incidents and maintenance concerns to supervisors promptly.
  11. Performany other duties assigned by management.

Key Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must have at least:

  • Diploma (A1) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or A2 qualification supplemented by five years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience, including at least two years in electrical installation, operation, or maintenance.
  • Experience in routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Skills in plumbing or carpentry will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications will be an added advantage.
