Job Description

Position Overview

The Finance Officer is responsible for ensuring accuracy, transparency, and accountability in all financial operations. This role supports budgeting, reporting, payments, and compliance functions across departments. The Finance Officer maintains proper records, assists in audits, and provides financial insights to guide effective decision-making.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

The main objectives and responsibilities of the position are:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Reconcile accounts, verify transactions, and ensure compliance with company and legal standards.

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets for departments and projects.
  • Track expenses, compare actual performance with budgets, and report variances.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures where applicable.

Accounts & Payments

  • Manage invoices, receipts, and payments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for vendors, clients, and internal departments.
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance with financial procedures.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure adherence to Rwandan financial regulations and tax requirements.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for both internal and external audits.
  • Support implementation of internal controls and company financial policies.

Collaboration & Systems

  • Work closely with operations, procurement, and other teams to align financial processes.
  • Support data entry and accuracy within finance systems.
  • Provide financial insights to management for informed decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, preferably within manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, taxation, and compliance requirements in Rwanda.
  • Experience preparing budgets, financial reports, and managing cash flow.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and support management decision-making.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail in handling financial records.
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: To be determined.
  • Paid Leave: 18 days annually.
  • Work Location: Plot G5, Kigali Special Economic Zone, Kigali, Rwanda.
  • Contract: Open-ended.
  • Reporting To: Finance Manager / Head of Department.
  • Expenses: Reimbursement for authorized business-related expenses (transport, airtime, etc.).
