Job responsibilities

Report to Finance and Administration Finance Manager
-
Act as payment authority including signing of cheques, payment orders and EFTs.

Review and approval of financial statements and ensuring they are submitted to relevant authorities in good time.

Attending management meetings and advising management on financial matters.

Review expenditure plans
-
Implementation of audit recommendations.
-
Monitor commitments, expenditures, appropriations, accounts receivables and revenues within their departments and take corrective action where necessary.

Provide guidance on the organization and training of staff with financial responsibilities within their departments
-
Ensure that financial manuals, policies, instructions and circular letters are kept current and that each officer is made aware of their existence.

Ensure the safekeeping of cash and other assets
-
Ensure effective risk management and internal controls are put in place within the finance departments of the public entity.

Review of bank reconciliations.
-
Perform other financial duties assigned by CBM.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance with CPA/CPFA/CPFM intermediate level /ACCA Foundation Level (Completion of ACCA Applied Skills papers) with three (3) years of relevant working experience

Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance with CPA/CPFA/CPFM intermediate level /ACCA Foundation Level (Completion of ACCA Applied Skills papers) with one (1) year of relevant working experience.
1 Years of relevant experience

Post Graduate Degree in PFM with two (2) years of relevant working experience is eligible.
2 Years of relevant experience

Bachelor’s Degree in any other field with API/PFM Certificate, with three (3) years of relevant working experience is eligible.
3 Years of relevant experience

Having CPA or CPA Intermediate level, CIA/CPFA/CPFM or ACCA Part1
