Mission/Core purpose of the Job
- Responsible for leading the solution architecture and business analysis function at MTN Rwanda, translating business strategy and needs into well-architected, secure, scalable and cost-effective technology solutions.
- Owns architecture governance, solution design and requirements engineering, and serves as the bridge between business and technology across telecom, fintech (MoMo) and digital domains.
- Partners with product, engineering, security, vendors and business leadership to ensure solutions align to enterprise architecture, MTN Group standards and regulatory requirements, and deliver measurable business value.
Key Performance Areas
- Solution Architecture & Design: Lead the design of end-to-end solutions across telecom, fintech and digital domains; ensure solutions are scalable, secure, integrable, maintainable and aligned to business and technical requirements.
- Enterprise Architecture Alignment & Governance: Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture principles, standards, patterns and MTN Group guidelines; participate in architecture review and governance forums.
- Business Analysis & Requirements Engineering: Lead elicitation, analysis, documentation and validation of business and functional requirements; ensure traceability from business need to solution.
- Stakeholder & Demand Management: Engage business and technology stakeholders to understand needs, shape demand, and prioritise initiatives; facilitate workshops and align expectations.
- Integration & API Strategy: Define integration approaches, APIs and middleware patterns to ensure interoperability and reuse across platforms and partners.
- Technology Evaluation & Selection: Assess and recommend technologies, products and vendors; conduct feasibility, options analysis and proofs of concept.
- Security, Compliance & Privacy by Design: Ensure solutions embed security, data protection and regulatory requirements from the outset; partner with Cybersecurity and Compliance.
- Cost & Value Optimisation: Ensure solutions deliver value for money; support business cases, benefits realisation and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.
- Documentation & Standards: Maintain solution designs, architecture artefacts, requirements and standards; promote reuse and knowledge sharing.
- Leadership & People Management: Lead and develop solution architects and business analysts; build a culture of quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Prepares and submits regular solution architecture and business analysis reports to technology leadership.
- Lead and develop solution architects and business analysts.
- Establish standards, methods, templates and ways of working for architecture and analysis.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching and capability development.
Experience
- 10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years in senior solution architecture and/or business analysis roles.
- Strong experience designing solutions and engineering requirements across complex, integrated environments.
- Proven track record bridging business and technology and delivering measurable value.
- Experience in telecom, fintech, or digital environments is an advantage.
Education Background
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master’s Degree or MBA is an advantage.
- Architecture (e.g., TOGAF) and/or business analysis (e.g., CBAP/CCBA) certifications. Fluent in English.
