SOCIAL PROTECTION ASSISTANT MANAGER

Job Purpose:

The Social Protection Assistant Manager will actively oer support to the Social Protection Manager Investment and Social Impact in the day-to-day implementation of Social Protection related activities and tasks to ensure that program deliverables are executed within the required quality standards of time, cost, and eciency. The emphasis will be on nancial inclusion for Refugees and People living with Disabilities.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Business Development

  • End-to-End Grant/Proposal writing using creative thinking, quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Undertake and promote documentation of good practices as lessons learnt.

Social Protection Assistant Manager support

  • Participate in detailed program planning, execution and monitoring implementation
  • Support in coordinating key functions during project implementation for activities such as beneciary enrolment, carding and payments.
  • Communicate proactively with all partners to gather feedback, identify problems, curate solutions, provide encouragement, and implement eciency improvements.
  • Actively resolve cross-functional issues within contractual TAT.
  • Identify and analysize case management gaps and address them accordingly.
  • Coordinate branch support and respond to branch inquiries accordingly.
  • Undertake data analysis, reconciliations and provide regular progress and status reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Closely monitor the program schedule and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met and timely reporting done.
  • Identify and analysize program risks and escalate them to the Program Manager Investment and Social Impact and the Head of Investment and Social Impact.
  • Networking and prospecting in dierent forums to forge partnerships for the Bank/EGF with county and national governments Ministries, Departments and Agencies, bilateral and multilateral development partners, UN agencies, NGOs, private sector, corporate philanthropic foundations etc.
  • Representing the Bank/EGF in social protection initiatives and partnerships while facilitating strategic alignment with partners.
  • Undertake and promote documentation of good practices as lessons learnt.
  • Anticipate details of future programs by communicating directly with stakeholders and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news

Candidate’s Qualifications, Skills, Experience and key Attributes

  • University degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Social Studies, Project Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Strong organizational, planning and writing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines, identify and solve problems comprehensively
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated competencies in championing customer focus
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Program Management professional qualications in PMP/PRINCE2 or similar qualifications will be an added advantage
  • Fluency in English and French. An extra language will be an added advantage
