Job Title: Climate Finance Analyst

Tasks
Resource Mobilization and Partnership Development
- Support the design and implementation of the Fund’s external resource mobilization strategy to increase and diversify funding sources.
- Identify, assess, and engage potential contributors including governments, development partners, foundations, and private sector actors.
- Contribute to the recapitalization and growth of the Basket Fund.
- Support the development and maintenance of a strong pipeline of funding opportunities for both core funding and strategic program windows.
- Track and monitor resource mobilization efforts, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Participate in relationship-building engagements with donors and partners, supporting preparation of briefs and engagement materials.
- Support outreach efforts to expand and strengthen the Fund’s contributor base and partnerships.
Proposal Development and Fundraising Support
- Support the development of high-quality concept notes, funding proposals, and investment cases aligned with donor priorities and Fund strategy.
- Coordinate input from technical teams to ensure proposals are coherent, competitive, and aligned with programmatic priorities.
- Contribute to the development of compelling narratives, including financial, environmental, and socio-economic impact cases.
- Support the preparation of presentations, briefing notes, and communication materials for fundraising purposes.
- Ensure timely delivery of proposals and adherence to donor requirements and submission deadlines.
Financial Innovation and Market Intelligence
- Contribute to the development and exploration of innovative financial instruments (e.g., green bonds, guarantees, blended finance mechanisms).
- Conduct market research and analysis on climate finance trends, funding opportunities, and emerging instruments.
- Support the identification of new domestic and international revenue streams to strengthen the Fund’s financial sustainability.
- Provide analytical inputs to inform strategic decisions on financing approaches and partnerships.
Stakeholder Coordination and Engagement
- Support coordination of resource mobilization activities across internal units and external stakeholders.
- Maintain effective working relationships with key institutions including government entities, development partners, and private sector actors.
- Assist in organizing and supporting stakeholder meetings, donor missions, and engagement events.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and follow-up actions to ensure effective stakeholder engagement.
- Participate in events, conferences, forums and other networking activities to engage with potential partners and build the stakeholder portfolio.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Knowledge Management
- Track and maintain data on resource mobilization activities, funding pipelines, and contributor engagement.
- Support the preparation of periodic reports on resource mobilization performance for management and governance bodies.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data and reporting outputs.
- Contribute to knowledge management by documenting lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
Operational and Administrative Support
- Support administrative processes related to funding agreements, contributions, and partner coordination.
- Assist in the preparation of policy documents, operational guidelines, and internal reports.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to timelines across all assigned tasks.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Job Specifications/Profile
Relevant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Environmental Economics, Environmental Sciences, Development Studies, Climate Change, or a related field.
- A Master’s Degree or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in resource mobilization, project development, climate finance, or related fields.
- Experience working with donor-funded programs, development partners, or financing institutions is desirable.

- Good understanding of climate finance and the global climate funding landscape.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting proposal development and fundraising processes.
- Strong analytical and research skills, including ability to assess financing opportunities.

- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).
