As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Store Officer to assist in managing inventory and warehouse operations at our Kabuye site.

Position Summary:

The Store Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and issuing goods, and ensuring the proper storage and safekeeping of materials and supplies. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, and familiar with basic stock management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials and supplies.
• Issue materials and equipment based on authorized requisitions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of stock levels using manual inventory systems.
• Label, organize, and store items in their designated locations within the store.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of the store or warehouse area.
• Assist in identifying and reporting slow-moving or obsolete stock items.
• Collaborate closely with the procurement, Engineering, Workshop, Plantation, Process, and maintenance teams to ensure inventory requirements are effectively met.
• Maintain strict adherence to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for material handling, documentation, and reporting.
• Ensure proper implementation of the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) system and maintain inventory traceability.
• Participate in audits and provide all necessary records and documentation as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or Certificate in Stores Management, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in storekeeping or warehouse operations, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with both manual and computerized inventory management systems.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• High accuracy in documentation and effective coordination with the Purchase, Accounts, and User Departments.
• Proficiency in store management software such as Tally or ERP systems, and in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely as required.
• Skilled in performing visual and physical quality checks of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Hands-on experience in material inward handling, Goods Receipt Note (GRN) preparation, and outward material dispatch.
• Strong understanding of the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) system and inventory traceability principles.
• Honest, dependable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
